Role level based database access
Managing Database Access Roles
Space administrators have the ability to control database access based on user roles. This functionality applies to all database types within CDT Admin. Here’s how it works:
- Full Access Override: The admin role can view and modify all databases, regardless of role mappings.
- Default Access: If a database has no roles mapped to it, it is accessible to all users in the system by default.
- Dashboard Restrictions: When viewing dashboards that contain charts linked to restricted databases, PDF download functionality is disabled for that dashboard for that specific user.
- Static Data Access: Charts displaying static data such as text boxes or images are accessible to all users, regardless of role restrictions.
- Shared Dashboards: Role-based access controls do not apply to shared dashboards.
Enabling Role-Based Access
To activate role-based access controls, please contact our support team. Once enabled, follow these steps:
Select Databases. Go to Settings>Databases.
Select Roles: Choose specific roles that should have access to each database.
Limit Access: Users without specified access roles will be unable to view charts linked to restricted databases.
