The below integrations are supported using the Direct Connect Infrastructure option. If a desired data source is not listed below, the Sisense Managed Warehouse can be used in conjunction with a third party ETL partner to push data into a Sisense-managed Redshift cluster. For more information on the differences between the Direct Connect and Warehouse infrastructure options, refer to the documentation here.
PostgreSQL is an advanced open-source SQL database with a focus on modern technologies, extensibility, and standards compliance. It is an excellent choice as an all-purpose database or a lightweight data warehouse. Heroku and Amazon Web Services offer excellent Postgres-as-a-service deployments.
MySQL is the world's most popular open-source database. It is a common choice for an all-purpose database, and comes with a mature ecosystem of tools and integrations. Amazon Web Services' Relational Database Service is a quick and easy way to get started with a MySQL database.
SQL Server is a high-performance commercial SQL database from Microsoft. Its ColumnStore index type makes it a good choice as a data warehouse as well as a main database, and its Excel integration is seamless and convenient.
Oracle Database is the original SQL database and the most popular commercial database. Oracle is an excellent choice for a large-scale database with enterprise-grade support for UNIX-based platforms.
MemSQL is a fast commercial in-memory database that implements the MySQL specification. It is the current record-holder on many SQL benchmarks, and has recently added a column store that is promising for analytic workloads.
Amazon Redshift is a distributed petabyte-scale data warehouse that is managed in the cloud by Amazon. Its columnar storage engine and distributed architecture allow it to achieve very fast interactive query speeds on very large datasets. It's an excellent choice as a data warehouse for customers with more than 100M data rows.
Vertica is a popular distributed data warehouse offered by HP. Its cluster-based architecture and columnar storage engine make it ideal for analytic workloads on large data sets. It's a good choice as a large-scale data warehouse in on-premise environments.
Google BigQuery is a massive columnar data store that Google offers as part of their cloud services. It implements a restricted SQL subset, and is an ideal choice for truly massive datasets, or interoperability with other parts of Google's cloud.
Snowflake is a fully relational SQL data warehouse that is built on Amazon AWS. It decouples storage from computation, while delivering optimization and security via a cloud service layer. Snowflake's architecture enables multiple virtual warehouses to simultaneously operate on the same data, providing a highly scalable and concurrent service.
Teradata is a fully scalable relational database management system produced by Teradata Corp. It is widely used to manage large data warehousing operations.
Segment SQL is an event-tracking service that allows you to save events once and replay them in any of 119 different analytics services, as well as access the data via Segment SQL's Amazon Redshift cluster. If you are tracking events from multiple sources and wish to analyze them using multiple tools, Segment SQL is an ideal choice.
Amplitude is a mobile analytics service that combines easy-to-use built-in charts with direct access to their Amazon Redshift cluster. If you want SQL access to your analytics data without building a complex SDK and backend service, Amplitude is a great choice.
Note: Direct connection to Amplitude requires Amplitude's Redshift ETL feature.
Exasol is a high-performance, in-memory, MPP database specifically designed for analytics. From business-critical data applications to advanced analytics, EXASOL helps you analyze large volumes of data in real-time, helping you to accelerate your BI and reporting and turn data into value.
Salesforce is the number one CRM solution on the market. With this add-on, data from Salesforce can be used to understand customers, identify sales opportunities, and solve problems faster.
Amazon Athena is an interactive query service that makes it easy to analyze data in Amazon S3 using SQL. Athena is serverless, so there is no infrastructure to manage, and you pay only for the queries that you run. This makes it easy for anyone with SQL skills to quickly analyze large-scale datasets.
Presto is an open source distributed SQL query engine for running interactive analytic queries against data sources of all sizes ranging from gigabytes to petabytes.
Qubole is a cloud agnostic big-data-as-a-service provider. Through Qubole, Sisense for Cloud Data Teams can connect to Presto and Hive data sources.
