Managing Query Throughput with Read Replicas
👤 This documentation is intended for Site Administrators and/or Database Administrators.
Replica databases can be connected with Sisense to run queries against the same set of data across multiple databases. This can reduce the per-database query load by running the same number of concurrent queries on multiple databases instead of all on one database.
Connecting the Replica
To open the database settings, first click the Settings menu at the bottom of the left hand navigation bar. Then, click on Database Connections.
In the database page that opens, click "Add Database" in the top right:
Enter the replica database credentials, and select the database that the new connection is a replica of:
Once the proper credentials have been entered, clicking the "Add" button will successfully connect the replica database. Queries can now be pointed at multiple replicas of the same master, and Sisense will distribute the queries over them to improve throughput.
